God Breathes Momentum: Radical Faith Accelerating Divine Purpose and Growth

When we arrived in Serowe in 2021, we stepped into unfamiliar ground with faith as our only certainty. We knew no one and carried no local history, yet God directed every step. James remembered the Evangelical Fellowship of Botswana from earlier ministry connections in Gaborone. EFB brings local pastors together for prayer, encouragement, and cooperation for community needs. That memory became a divine opening. James contacted the EFB president, Pastor Kutlo “Oscar” Mokgethi of the Pentecostal Holiness Church of Botswana. That first connection marked the beginning of God-breathed momentum that continues to this day. In a town without established relationships, God connected our hearts and ministry. He brought us to a highly respected leader. This leader’s influence and integrity shaped the pastoral community of Serowe.

We responded with humility, patience, and honor. James listened, learned, and built trust before leading. Mokgethi welcomed James and introduced James to several pastors within EFB and the village. Those introductions formed partnerships rooted in shared vision, mutual respect, and deep friendships. Mokgethi accepted the role of chairperson for the World Hope Bible Institute training workshops in Serowe. This brought structure, credibility, and local leadership to the work. God later expanded Mokgethi’s responsibilities to oversee all PHCB churches in Botswana’s northern region. That assignment opened access to more villages and connected Mokgethi with more pastors eager for biblical training. It included a new World Hope Bible Institute location in Thabala, which is Mokgethi’s home village. Mokgethi embraced the vision with joy. He actively supports all that the Lord has given to the Kingdom of God in this region. Mokgethi is a faithful partner. He is a trusted friend and a strong encourager. He stands firm as the Gospel advances into the least-reached communities throughout this region.

Pastor Kutlo “Oscar” Mokgethi is a servant-leader with many gifts, from piano to preaching, inspiring countless people to follow Christ.

He is a living example of a life devoted to serving others, marked by humility, compassion, and steadfast faith. Lives are encouraged, hearts are strengthened, and the beauty of servant leadership shines through every act of love and guidance.

God breathes glorious momentum for divine purposes. God directs paths, shapes decisions, and forms character for purposes that stretch beyond personal plans. Each day presents a choice between self-direction and surrendered obedience. Resistance slows spiritual progress, while trust releases movement shaped by divine wisdom. When believers yield control, God orders steps with clarity and intention. Life gains direction when hearts surrender to God’s leading and walk in faithful obedience. Our daily invitation is clear: “The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps” (Proverbs 16:9). The Christian life flourishes as believers surrender direction to God and allow Him to carry them forth into grand purposes.
