God Feeds Hunger: From Soul-Starvation To Sacred Surge
Pastors and church leaders across Botswana carry a deep spiritual hunger. They long to understand the Bible more clearly and to live it out more faithfully. They crave truth they can trust and teaching they can pass on to their people. When training conferences are announced, they come in large numbers. They travel far. They make sacrifices to attend. Many pay for their own transportation while trusting God to supply the funds. Faithful training does happen in Serowe. Pastor James has been equipping many pastors in Serowe. These now reach only some leaders. Many pastors have not yet had the opportunity to join. Yet many gatherings still take place in larger cities rather than in rural villages. Leaders in villages are often overlooked. Resources are limited. Opportunities feel distant. Books stay expensive or continue unavailable locally. The hunger and thirst for the Word remains strong, and many still pray for broader access to biblical training.
God saw the pastors’ hunger and thirst, and He responded in a powerful way. Pastor James began speaking with Pastor Herman Swart, the Southern Africa director of the African Pastors Conference, last year. Pastor Herman shared that they had served two cities in Botswana for more than twenty years. Nevertheless, attendance at one location had begun to decline in recent years. Pastor James invited APC to consider bringing the conference to Serowe. They prayed together, and they agreed. Soon, plans were made with the local Ministers Fraternal to inform pastors across the region. The Ministers Fraternal decided to organize a two-day workshop. The theme was “The Practice and Principles of Biblical Theology: Christ Revealed in All of Scripture”. Pastors and ministry leaders attended, with 117 registered for the first conference in Serowe. APC speakers poured out rich teaching. Behind the scenes, Pastor James and Sister Wendie ensured every detail was in place and every need was met. APC also brought many theological books, offered at 75% percent below cost through generous overseas donations. Every book was sold, and hunger was satisfied!! Each person received three books and a Bible free of charge. Joy filled the room as God met their deep hunger with abundant provision.

Hearts leaned in, minds engaged, souls stirred, and strength renewed as God’s truth went forth and filled the hungry.
Pastor Marea Motlhogelwa lifts high the blessing placed in her hands, joyfully displaying the free books and Bible God provided.
God feeds the hungry soul. Spiritual hunger still lives in many hearts today, including yours. You long for a deeper understanding. You want fresh strength in God’s Word. You seek clarity for decisions, courage for trials, and wisdom for daily life. The same Lord who fed those pastors also sees your hunger. He does not overlook your need. He does not delay without purpose. He moves in response to the hearts he seeks. Scripture declares, “Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled” (Matthew 5:6). Like these pastors, are you hungry and thirsty for what only God can supply? God responds to spiritual appetite with faithful care. He fills hearts that open to Him. He feeds minds that stay in His Word. He strengthens the lives of those who walk in obedience. Bring your hunger to Him each day. Open your Bible with expectation. Pray with honesty. Sit quietly in His presence. He will supply truth when you need guidance, strength when you feel weak, and renewed vision when weariness sets in.
