God’s Generous Spirit: Bold Love Empowering Families and Transforming Lives
Christmas shines brightly on calendars, but for many families in our community, it also exposes deep need. Children arrive at church with joyful hearts and empty closets. A simple shirt can mean dignity, confidence, and warmth. Many children feel genuine excitement about clothing that others overlook because it feels brand new to them. At the same time, many families face the holidays without enough food. Cupboards sit nearly empty while prices rise and income stays uncertain. Parents carry a quiet worry as they try to stretch a little into enough. Hunger does not pause for celebrations, and need does not take a holiday. These realities surround us every December and remind us that joy and struggle often coexist.
God gave us the ability to respond with love in action. During our last visit to the United States, a generous church donated several shirts to us. The church no longer needed these golf shirts and T-shirts. Those shirts became seeds of blessing. We shared them with Praise House Church in Serowe, a young church plant filled with children and a few adults. During their annual Christmas party, excitement filled the room as children received their shirts. Smiles widened. Laughter rose. The entire church rejoiced together, not because the gifts were expensive, but because they were given with love. We also joined another church during their annual day of sacrificial giving to the community. Believers brought food items like cooking oil, mayonnaise, rice, sugar, sorghum, and juice. Ten needy families received food at a critical moment. Gratitude flowed freely as families carried hope home. We prayed boldly and asked the Lord for increased capacity to empower more giving. We want to grow this outreach. Ultimately, we hope to help 100 or more destitute families in the coming year.

Every act of giving, big or small, shows God’s love and brings hope to hearts longing for His care.
God calls us to remember the poor. He wants us to recognize the needs around us. We should act with compassion. We need to step into the lives of others with generosity that reflects His heart. Caring for those in need is not a side task but a central part of living out our faith. Every act of kindness is a witness to God’s love. Sharing meals and extending a helping hand are living demonstrations of it. Meeting needs in our communities strengthens relationships, restores hope, and points people clearly to Jesus. Galatians 2:10 says, “Only, they asked us to remember the poor, the very thing I was eager to do.” Our generosity opens hearts to His goodness and creates bridges that help people meet Him personally. When we give faithfully, we join God in His work. It shows a world in need that His love is real and powerful. His love is available to all who will accept it.
